RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The function of traditional herbs in tropical illness therapy is interesting. Many researches are currently being conducted on the effects of traditional herbs on a number of tropical ailments, including dengue fever. METHODS: In this short paper, we used network pharmacology to determine a shared biological pathway for the pharmacological impact of ginseng, a traditional Asian herb, and the pathophysiological process of dengue fever, a serious tropical vector-borne disease. RESULTS: Using interrelationship analysis, the authors were able to discover the common pathway via the vimentin node. CONCLUSION: It's possible that ginseng could help in dengue fever therapy.

RESUMEN

COVID-19 is the current global problem. Billions of infected cases due to the pandemic cause an emergency requirement to contain the pandemic. A basic concept to manage the outbreak is an early diagnosis and prompt treatment. To diagnose COVID-19, the new biosensors become new interventions that are hopeful to help effective diagnosis. In clinical material science, the issues on materials of COVID-19 detection biosensor is very interesting. In this brief review, the authors summarize and discuss on sustainable materials and COVID-19 detection biosensor. The paper, cellulose and graphene - based materials are specifically focused and biosensors for RNA sensing, antigenic determination and immune response detection are covered in this short article.

RESUMEN

COVID-19 is an important global public health problem that causes millions of infections worldwide. The specific antiviral drug for this new infection is still under research. Some new antiviral drugs, including molnupiravir and favipiravir, are proposed for usefulness in management of COVID-19. Additionally, some classic antiviral drugs used for other viral infections are also reproposed for the potentials for management of COVID-19. In the management of COVID-19, there are several pharmacological actions. An important consideration in antiviral therapy is the management of oxidative stress, which plays important roles in viral infections including to COVID-19. The analysis of antioxidative properties of alternative drugs for management of COVID-19 is interesting and can give basic data for further new antiviral drug researching. Here, the authors perform a molecular analysis on molnupiravir, favipiravir and other antiviral drugs with proposed potentials for management of COVID-19 to determine their antioxidative properties. Data from electron acceptor and donor calculation for each drug is used for further estimating overall antioxidative characteristic. Based on the present study, all studied drugs have overall antioxidative properties. Hence, the advantage of molnupiravir, favipiravir and other antiviral drugs with proposed potentials for the management of COVID-19 is their direct action on viral molecule via binding-blocking process as well as antixodiative process. For management of COVID-19 antioxidative stress, other non-antiviral drugs that are proposed for clinical advantage might also be useful.

RESUMEN

COVID-19 vaccination is proven useful for primary prevention against COVID-19. Classically, two doses of vaccine are required. After complete vaccination, there might be a decline in immunity level. When there is a new emerging variant and a possible decline of immunity in general people after standard mass vaccination, many scientists propose ideas for the additional third dose vaccination. The effectiveness of the third vaccine still unknown, therefore any studies on its effectiveness are interesting. Additionally, there are also many new ideas for using a new type of COVID-19 crossing to the previous completely vaccinated one. In this study, the authors use a clinical model technique for estimating of response to the additional third dose of COVID-19 vaccine based on different complete standard vaccination background.

RESUMEN

Gonorrhea is a common sexually transmitted disease that can be seen worldwide. Gonorrhea usually presents with the genital disorder. Nevertheless, rare clinical manifestation can also be seen. Here, the authors would like to present the case of a female prostitute presenting with repeated tonsillitis and finally diagnosed for gonococcal tonsillar infection. In the present day, there are a variety of sexual preferences and sexual intercourse that might result in unexpected clinical problems. Asking for the unusual oral sex history should be included in the history taking of the patients with recurrent pharyngitis and tonsillitis.
